Founded by Robert Reynolds in 2006, The Chef Studio invites students to connect to their passion for good food through our community of Teaching Chefs. The Studio continues on in the tradition of mentorship inspired by Reynolds by offering classes, dinners, field trips, and core curriculum. With a foundation focusing on classic French and Italian technique, The Chef Studio continues with the mission of granting a culinary education that embraces local agriculture and truth in ingredient.
We offer an 8-week course of study to candidates interested in becoming good cooks. A solid foundation of skills are put in place, while also focusing on the physics and chemistry of cooking, the methods and techniques that allow a cook to develop a signature, and with an eye to the history and culture of regional cuisine rooted in landscape. Robert brought France to Oregon. Oregon and our phenomenal ingredients shape the curriculum at the Studio
The mentorship at The Chef Studio continues with the core group of Teaching Chefs. The intimate setting of the Chef Studio allows for one instructor per 6 students. Students experience hands-on learning experience in a small group; allowing for the many and varied nuances of cooking to be absorbed with time, repetition and practical study.
Inherit the culinary teachings of Josephine Araldo of San Francisco, Madeleine Kamman of Annecy, France; and Robert Reynolds of Portland, Oregon.
Focused and Flexible. We cook while utilizing effective methods to help you achieve your goals. We offer a solid foundation of cooking and help build a comprehensive understanding of how great food is accomplished.
